Artifacts 1-3
These three artifacts were created outside of Dominican University's SOIS program. They are projects, presentations, or publications that were developed throughout my career in cultural heritage.
They reflect the SOIS' Goals and Outcomes, as well as serve as stable pieces that I would present to potential employers. Click on the underlined Artifact to view the full piece.

Dogs in Iti & Neferu's Tomb
This is a digital exhibit I created as part of my internship at the Museo Egizio in Turin, Italy. It analyzes the prominence of dogs within a husband and wife's tomb and their significance in broader Ancient Egyptian history.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 2a, 3a-c, 4b-c
Skeletons in the Digital Closet
These are the slides from a professional talk that I gave at Digital Humanities Utah (DH8), a conference about digital humanities, metadata, and ethics. I shared my research of a digital archive and photos that contain dead people and human remains.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 1a-c, 2a-c, 4a, 5b-c

NAGPRA in the Digital Age
I was invited to write a professional blog post for The Collective for Radical Death Studies about my opinions on how the Native American Graves and Protections Act (NAGPRA) needs to catch up to the digital age. Photos and data of Indigenous ancestral remains and grave goods need the same protections and considerations we give them physically.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 1a-c, 2a-c, 4a-b, 5b-c
Artifacts 4-12
The rest of the Artifacts are pieces created during my education at Dominican University. They come from various courses, show the breadth of my research interests, and committment to the advancement of the field of library and information science.
They reflect the SOIS' Goals and Outcomes, as well as serve as stable pieces that I would present to potential employers. Click on the underlined Artifact to view the full piece.

LIS 701 - Final Term Paper
One of my first ever papers for the program, this LIS 701 paper offers an alternative look at the freedom of information argument. While not a proponent of censorship, I urge the reader to consider if these neoliberal ideals butt against the goals of decolonization. What happens when knowledge shared and disseminated is private, sacred knowledge? Are we still entitled to that? These are the questions I explore in the paper.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 1a, 2b, 4a, 5b
LIS 775 - Discussion Posts
This is a response to a discussion post in LIS 775. It presents a scenario regarding potentially controversial collection materials. My answers demonstrate my understanding of the topic, the issues and ethics therein, and creative solutions to reduce harm or involve other partners to help.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 1a-b, 2a-c, 3c, 4a

Pages of Labor
This digital exhibit was the final project for LIS 711. Unlike my other digital exhibit, this one uses ArcGIS StoryMaps as a method to exhibit a small sampling of textual collections that range from the Ancient to Early Modern periods. The topic I chose was about labor and the various insights texts can provide about the everyday lives of craftspeople and laborers.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 2a, 3a-c, 4b-c
LIS 889 - RTI Imaging Conservation
This presentation examines the complex born-digital files that Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) creates. I provide an overview of what RTI is, its applications, and why preserving these files is complex and still changing as software becomes obsolete.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 2a, 3a-c

LIS 882 - Final Project XML
This is the final project for LIS 882. Though this is a group project, this portion is the specific XML files I created. This is an example of my proficiency with key software used within the LIS and cultural heritage world, XML syntax, metadata schemas, and controlled vocabularies.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 3a-c
LIS 702 - Reference Guide
One of the larger projects for LIS 702 was to create a Reference Guide on a subject of our choosing. With permission from the professor, I opted to create a fake Libguide of what I would make as a subject librarian in an academic institution. My topic was mummies, and I utilized the Rebecca Crown Library's collections and other resources and databases to create a comprehensive reference source for students and researchers.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 3a-c, 4a-c

LIS 702 - Instructional Video
We were tasked to create an instructional video about a database, library catalog, or other user facilitated activity. I created a short presentation about the save/pushpin feature in the Rebecca Crown Library's digital catalog. It is paired with this instructional learning outcomes.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 1b, 2c, 3a, 4c
LIS 702 - Evaluating Resources
In the academic librarian scenario, I evaluated two databases from a list provided and used them to find appropriate materials for the Media and Cinema Studies Collection. I provide my rationale for each item and other things I would do as the liason.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 1b, 2b-c, 3b-c, 4b

LIS 804 - Digital Preservation Plan
This was one of the largest group projects I have worked on and most proud of. We were given a unique scenario to provide a benchmark of preservation done so far and demonstrate a long term digital preservation strategy for an upcoming grant. My largest contribution was the written portion, particularly the snapshot and infographics.
Goals/Outcomes Met: 3a-c, 4a-c, 5a-c
